I provide individual therapy for adolescents and adults struggling with a variety of issues including eating disorders, self-esteem concerns, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and relationship problems. Additionally, I offer consultation for parents, schools, or others who want to learn how to help someone with an eating disorder.
Primarily psychodynamic/insight-oriented, with cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavior therapy techniques used as needed.
Initial 30-minute consultations are free. If you decide to continue, the fee for each 50-minute individual session is $150.
The only insurance that I am contracted with is Anthem Blue Cross. If you have a different insurance with coverage for out-of-network mental health providers, I will give you monthly receipts that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Informed Consent (pdf)Insight-oriented therapy and psychodynamic therapy work from the assumption that the better you know yourself, the better you will function in the world. Using this approach, you will learn how your past relationships and experiences influence your current self-esteem, relationship patterns, and ways of behaving and feeling. Once you understand why you are the way you are, you are more likely to accept yourself, and you have much more power to make changes.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) begins with the assumptions that your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all linked to one another, and that by changing one, you can change the other two. You will learn very specific skills for challenging and changing your thoughts and behaviors, and you will be asked to practice these skills outside of the therapy session.
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) draws from CBT and Buddhist mindfulness practice to teach very specific skills to help you learn to tolerate painful experiences, regulate painful emotions, and increase interpersonal skills. Acceptance and mindfulness are two core concepts in this approach.
